PURPOSE:To obtain a wide dynamic range by frequency-dividing an input signal to be measured, reading the frequency-divided signal by the output of a means to multiply a reference input signal by a shift register, deciding its result and outputting pulse signal. CONSTITUTION:A measured input signal 1 is frequency-divided by a frequency dividing circuit 3, a reference input signal 2 is multiplied by a multiplying circuit 4 and the output of the frequency diving circuit 3 is written into a shift register with the output of the multiplying circuit 4 as a clock. The Up/Down of outputs X0-X2 of the shift register 5 is decided by coincidence detecting circuits 6 and 7. The result of this decision is outputted by the coincidence detecting circuit 6 and outputted as an Up counting pulse and a Down counting pulse by gate circuits 8 and 9. Thus, the frequency comparator having the wide dynamic range can be obtained. |
