<p>PURPOSE:To reduce coordinate input work procedures by distinguishing coordinates to be inputted with a function change-over switch of a coordinate input device kept at operator's hand. CONSTITUTION:A coordinate input part 1 is the pointing device having a display device and is connected to a host device 5 including a computer by a signal line 3. A switch 2 to select the two-dimensional or one-dimensional coordinate input function is connected to the coordinate input part 1 and the host device 5 by a signal line 4. The switch 2 is operated to display a picture where the plane of the X axis and the Y axis is emphasized, and a cursor is moved to coordinates (x, y) to input coordinate values (x, y). Next, the switch 2 is operat ed to display a picture where the Z axis is emphasized, and the cursor is moved to coordinates (z) to input the coordinate value (z). Thus, operation procedures are reduced.</p> |
