PURPOSE:To obtain the title aramid composition in the form of a fiber, a film or the like excellent in bending fatigue resistance, abrasion resistance, etc., by mixing an aqueous suspension of a tetrafluoroethylene resin with a fine inorganic powder and an aromatic polyamide powder, drying the obtained mixture, hot-pressing it and extruding it from a hot molding die. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous suspension of a tetrafluoroethylene is mixed with a fine inorganic powder (e.g., silicon carbide powder) and an aromatic polyamide (e.g., poly-m-phenylene-isophthalamide), and the mixture is dried. The obtained mixed powder 1 coated with the tetrafluoroethylene resin is introduced into a hot-pressing zone composed of a cylindrical part 2 and the conical part 3 of an extruder, hot-pressed by lowering a plunger 5 and introduced into a zone 4 to extrude it into a fiber or the like, and the extrudate is cooled with a cooling bath 6 to obtain an aramide composition 7 containing a fine powder. The obtained composition 7 can be desirably used as, e.g., the bristles of an abrasive brush. |
