PURPOSE:To simultaneously print several character lines and to effectively increase a recording speed without enhancing the resistance of a common electrode by arranging a plurality of heating resistor rows to the end part of a substrate on one straight line and setting the interval between the heating resistor rows to an integral multiple of the length of each of the heating resistor rows and providing the common electrodes between the heating resistor rows. CONSTITUTION:Heating resistor rows are separated into two rows of heating resistors 3a1...3an and 3b1...3bn and, for example, when each heating resistor row has 24 dots, the total number of dots are 48. Further, the interval between the heating resistor rows is equal to the length of each heating resistor row and common electrode is drawn out from the space between both rows. Therefore, a recording speed becomes two times effectively as compared with a printer using a 24-dot thermal head. |
