PURPOSE:To prevent the deviation of a recording position and permit to set a correct deflecting amount easily by a method wherein a shield plate is arranged before a deflection electrode and is permitted to be selectively connected to one of a shield potential and a charge detecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:In the charge deflection type ink jet recording device, a shield plate 24 is arranged at a position near a recording paper at the tip end of a carriage 22 carrying an ink injection head 9 while the shield plate 24 is used both for a shielding electrode and a charge detecting electrode. The shield plate 24 is constituted by a conductive body while the plate is formed with an opening 24a, permitting to pass a charged ink particle, at the lower part thereof, an inclined surface 24b is formed at the upper end of the opening, and the edge 24c of the lower end thereof is secured to the tip end of the carriage through an insulating member so that the edge 24c is located immediately above the flying track of the ink particle received the maximum deflection. The shield potential and the charge detecting circuit are connected to the shield plate 24 through a selective switch. |
