PURPOSE:To obtain the recording medium having excellent recording sensitivity and high durability in C/N characteristics, etc., by providing an intermediate layer consisting of an arom. heterocyclic compd. contg. a nitrogen atom, thiol group and specific hydrocarbon group between a substrate and a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate layer is provided between the plastic substrate and the recording layer thereon. This intermediate layer is formed of the arom. heterocyclic compd. which is the arom. heterocyclic compd. contg. >=1 nitrogen atoms, contains at least one group among the thiol group, thioether group and ketone group by directly bonding the same to a heterocycle and contains the hydrocarbon group of a 5-30C range in the molecule of this compd. The intermediate layer has an excellent adhesive property and prevents the infiltration of moisture, etc., from the substrate. The change of the recording sensitivity, C/N characteristic and jitter with age is decreased. |
