Process for the recovery of rubber crumbs prepared by emulsion polymerization of a conjugated diene and a vinyl substituted aromatic and/or acrylonitrile, comprising a flashing step in order to remove the non converted conjugated diene, an optional step of blending with additives, a coagulation step carried out in a closed equipment, closed mechanical dewatering step(s), which may optionally be integrated with the coagulation step, and a direct continuous or batchwise step of removal of water and the non converted vinyl substitutued aromatic and/or acrylonitrile monomer by evaporation and subsequent separation of said monomer from water after condensation.
