PURPOSE:To generate a great shearing stress by application of weak electric fields by dispersing particles of polymer having specific number of cationic dissociation radicals and anionic dissociation radicals in an electrical insulating dispersion medium to prepare a fluid composition. CONSTITUTION:Unsaturated monomers containing anionic dissociation radicals such as sulfonic acids, etc., and unsaturated monomers containing cationic dissociation radicals such as amino radicals, etc., together with other monomers capable of polymerizing when required, are caused to be copolymerized to produce polymers or crosslinked substances, which thereafter are granulated. The particles thus obtained contain respectively 0.5mg equivalent/g or more of cationic dissociation radicals and anionic dissociation radicals, wherein number of anionic dissociation radicals is 10-1000 per 100 of cationic dissociation radicals. The particles obtained are dispersed in an electric insulating dispersion medium for preparation of electroviscous fluid compositions. |
