<p>A rubber composition having improved flame retardancy is disclosed, which comprises at least 80% of thermosetting rubber selected from styrene-butadiene rubber, butadiene rubber, acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber and blends thereof and up to 20% of thermoplastic rubber, having blended therewith a chlorinated paraffin and magnesium oxide as flame retarding additives. The rubber composition is useful in the manufacture of articles such as conveyor belts.</p> |
