PURPOSE:To improve the spectral sensitivity of the title emulsion against a flashing exposure, and to lessen the deterioration of the sensitivity of the emulsion after preserving it at high temp. and humidity environments by sensitizing the emulsion with a specified methine dye. CONSTITUTION:The emulsion is composed of the emulsion for the flashing exposure of a laser ray, etc., and comprises a nucleus substd. one or more of carbon atoms among 10C azulene nucleus with a chalcogen atom or nitrogen atom, and the emulsion is sensitized by a methine dye (such as a compd. shown by formula I) substd. with a methine bind having an auxochrome capable of forming a conjugate and resonance chromophore with a 10pi electron system of a nucleus contd. in the 7 membered ring part of the azulene nucleus, at an end group. In the formula, V1-V5 are each hydrogen or halogen atom, etc., Y and Z are each carbon, nitrogen or a chalcogen atom, L1-L5 are each methine group, Q1 is an atomic group necessary for forming a 5-6 membered ring, R2 is alkyl group, (l) is 0-3, (n1) is 0 or 1, M is a pair ion, (m) is a necessary number. The pigment is composed of a compd. shown by formula II wherein Y is nitrogen group, Z is N-CH3 group, V1 is OCH3 group, Z<1> is sulfur atom, R<2> is C2H5 group, (l1) is 0, M is I<-> atom, (m) is 1, X is CH3 group at 6-position of a benzene nucleus, etc. |
