<p>A stringed musical instrument of the solid body or equivalent type is provided with elongated, resonant beams which support a bridge for the strings. The resonant frequency of the beam is lowered by the use of concentrated mass portions located in or on the beam and away from supports for the beam. Electrical vibration pick-up means is associated with the beam so that vibrations thereof, in response to string vibration, will produce electrical signals which are representative of the beam vibration , the electrical signals being employed to enhance the low frequency response of the instrument. The pick-up means may be crystal, magneto-dynamic or other type suitable for producing electrical signals representative of musical string vibration.</p> |
