PURPOSE:To achieve improvement of quality by filling up in a blank part between dots by a method wherein an upper end of one line is made to meet almost an upper end of a heating element and after heating the heating element, the element is heated again by relatively moving a line thermal head to a recording medium so as to conform an under end of one line with an under end of the heating element to heat the element again. CONSTITUTION:Thermal paper 8 comprising a sheet state recording material is conveyed vertically and in a subscan direction to a platen axle 4 by rotation of a platen 2. Then, in order to record image information of the number of specified digits on the thermal paper 8 with a line counter N, CPU 41 heads heating elements Ha to Hz. In this case, after heating the heating elements by conforming an upper end of one line in the sub scan direction almost with upper ends of the heating elements Ha to Hz, the thermal paper 8 is moved to a head 3 so as to conform a lower end of one line almost with a lower end of the elements Ha to Hz with the platen 2 to heat the elements Ha to Hz again. Thereby, though the heating element shorter than one line width in the sub-scan direction is used, a blank part between lines can be filled up. |
