PURPOSE:To improve mordant powder and the preservable property of color images by incorporating a polymer mordant having a monomer unit having a tertiary amino group or quaternary ammonium salt and specific monomer units as constituting components into the photographic element. CONSTITUTION:The polymer mordant contg. the monomer unit having the tertiary amino group or quaternary ammonium salt and at least one of the monomer units expressed by formulas I-III as the constituting molecules is incorporated into the photographic element. In formulas, R<1> denotes a hydrogen atom or 1-6C alkyl group; R<2>-R<5> denote an alkyl group or substd. alkyl group; R<6>-R<8> denote a hydrogen atom, alkyl group or substd. alkyl group. R<9>-R<11> denote an alkyl group, substd. alkyl group, alkoxy group, substd. alkoxy group, halogen group, etc.; L<1>-L<3> denote a divalent combination group having 1-20C; (l), (m) denote 0-2; (m) denotes 0 or 1. The mordant characteristic is improved in this way and the power to hold the mordant dyed dye in a stable form is improved. |
