<p>PURPOSE:To moderate sharp surge and to stabilize the operational voltage of an arrester by arranging a potential control member composed of ferro-magnetic film around a high voltage conductor inserted into a bushing insulator. CONSTITUTION:Potential control members, i.e., capacitor type insulation units 30, 31, 32, arranged around a high voltage conductor 12 inserted into an insulator 11 are composed of ferro-magnetic film wound in multi-layers. In other words, magnetic members arranged as capacitor type insulation units 30, 31, 32 generally have high specific permeability. For example, iron has mu=5000 and produces flux 5000 times as much as that in a vacuum. Inductance of iron having a length of 1m can be shown by formula I. If d0=100cm and di=96cm, the inductance L equals to 40.8muH. Sharp surge intruding through a wire is moderated by this high inductance and the operational voltage of an arrester is maintained constant.</p> |
