<p>PURPOSE: To provide a switching device which integrates a packet switching function with a circuit switching function by connecting selectively the input terminal of a data storage to the data terminal of an addressing means or a routing memory. CONSTITUTION: A switching device is provided with an addressing means 31 which produces the write addresses and supplies them to a data storage and a central controller, and a routing memory 50 which produces a relevant data store address for each packet to be read out. Then the address input terminal of the data storage can be selectively connected to the data output terminal of the means 31 or the memory 50. Thus, not only the circuit-oriented data but the packet-oriented data can be exchanged.</p> |
