<p>PURPOSE: To provide constitution of a synthetic gas cooler to safely guide a high temperature gaseous flow containing a particulate matter, by a method wherein a vertical shell having a vertical inlet formed in a top part contains high temperature synthetic gas together with a solid to carry the gas, an inside water wall is coaxially extended to form a central heat-exchanger passage. CONSTITUTION: A radiant heat gas cooler, i.e., a heat-exchanger 10, contains an elongated vertical shell 11. The shell is provided at an upper end part with an inlet 12. The inlet 12 is axially positioned. A water wall 13 partitioned internally of the shell 11 is heat-exchanged radially with high temperature synthetic gas to carry a solid. The synthetic gas flows down through a central passage 14. Manifolds 16 and 17 are respectively arranged at the top parts and the bottoms of water pipes 22 and 23 of the water wall 13. A wall consists thereof, and a central cooling passage 14 is formed thereby. A conventional pipe structure is employed so that circulating fluid being water in this case is circulated and recovered as usable steam. The water wall 13 arranged coaxially with the shell 11 forms an annular chamber or an elongated annular chamber between adjoining two surfaces.</p> |
