摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the linear waveform equalizing operation of a phase characteristic for the unit of head and to obtain no-distortion condition to satisfy the reference of Nyquist by arranging plural magneto-resistance effect type element heads in a track direction with prescribed intervals and synthesizing signals from these heads with a synthesizing means. CONSTITUTION:Four magneto-resistance effect type element heads 1a-1d are arranged in a digital multi-element magnetic head 1 and the magnetic head 1 is moved in an arrow direction on a recording track 9 of a magnetic recording medium. Head width W of the element magnetic heads 1a-1d, which form this magnetic head 1, is caused to be same and a resistance effect characteristic is made different. Thus, the output signals of the respective element magnetic heads 1a-1d are equally increased and decreased and fluctuation is reduced to tracking dislocation. The output signals from the respective element magnetic heads 1a-1d of this magnetic head 1 are synthesized by a synthesizing circuit 10. Then, serial, parallel or serial and parallel connection is executed for the respective element magnetic heads 1a-1d by the synthesizing circuit 10 and a bias current is supplied. After that, the signal is converted to a voltage or current signal and outputted.
