2,2'-Bi-1H-imidazoles of formula (I), their tautomer and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are prepd. In (I), X=cyano; (Y) n=H, halogen, cyano, C1-6 alkyl, -COOR'[R'=H or C1-6 alkyl , -S(O)mR' or R-substd. phenyl[R=H, amino, nitro or C1-6 alkoxy ; m=n=1 or 2; A=H or C1-6 alkyl; B=H, Me, Et, vinyl or phenyl; at least one of A and B is H. (I) are useful for curing hypertension.
