The invention comprises at least one snow-production unit formed from a water compressor 6 mounted on a post 1. The compressor is supplied via a conduit 10 with water at low pressure and compresses this through a nozzle 7 for atomising and spraying fine droplets at a distance, the droplets crystallising as snowflakes in contact with the ambient air. Means are provided for a programmed orientation of the jet of atomised water 8 and for automation of the whole assembly in order to take into account different climatic and technical parameters of each station. <IMAGE>
