PURPOSE:To print such page numbers that the order of pages can be seen from the page numbers by printing a page number for the page immediately before an inserted page and a page number for the inserted page through detecting repagination even when the inserted page is not provided with a code for printing the page number. CONSTITUTION:A microprocessor controlling the whole of a device controls display, printing, input, document forming and edition, such a pagination as to enable discrimination of inserted pages, etc., according to a program stored in a main memory. A printing control code retrieving part 25 judges a page as an inserted page when a change of page is about to occur though a printing control code is not found in printing data supplied. A page number insertion controlling part 26 determines a page number to be printed (e.g., 3-1 or 4-2), and outputs a printing instruction to a printer-controlling part 31. |
