RECORDING AND ERASING METHOD FOR MAGNETO-OPTICAL DISK

PURPOSE:To suppress the lowering of a reproducing output and to improve the reliability of a disk by suiting a laser output at the time of recording or erasing in order to control the temperature distribution of a recording film. CONSTITUTION:In a magneto-optical disk to have a magneto-optical recording film which has vertical magnetic anisotropy, at least, on a substrate, the laser output is changed at the time of the recording and erasing and the respective laser outputs are made suitable in order to control the temperature distribution of the recording film. Then, the laser output for the erasing is caused to be >=the same value as that of the laser output for the recording. Further, the temperature distribution is controlled in correspondence to the structure of the optical disk.
