PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of analog recording and reproducing characteristics and to increase reproduced output by non-paralleling the substrate side surface of magnetic layers with a magnetic gap. CONSTITUTION:The signal magnetic flux flowing into the magnetic head via a magnetic pole 4a near a head gap can flow into the 1st magnetic layer 2a without via an interlayer insulating layer 5a and the signal magnetic flux flowing in the 1st magnetic layer 2b can flow into a magnetic pole 4b without via an interlayer insulating layer 5b. The attenuation of the signal magnetic fluxes by the layers 5a, 5b can, therefore, be prevented and the reproduced output is increased by 2-3dB while eddy currents are decreased by the layers 5a, 5b. Since the boundaries between the 1st magnetic layers 2a, 2b and substrates 1a, 1b are non-parallel with a nonmagnetic layer 7, the contactor effect is decreased and further, the magnetic poles 4a, 4b are formed to the flat peaks of the layers 2a, 2b and the film forming direction thereof can be made parallel with the flat peaks. The excellent magnetic characteristics of the magnetic poles 4a, 4b are obtd. and the recording and recording characteristics of the magnetic head are correspondingly improved. |
