PURPOSE:To reduce the heat capacity of a main combustion chamber, avoid the generation of smoke and NOx, and improve the cycle efficiency and intake efficiency by providing a gap between a liner upper thin plate integrated with a ceramic head lower thin plate and the lower thin plate. CONSTITUTION:An upper thin plate 2 and a lower thin plate 3 are coupled with a cylinder liner upper section 1, a gap 6 is formed between the inner periphery of the flange section 24 of the lower thin plate 3 and the inner periphery of the lower end section of the upper thin plate 2. The upper thin plate 2, the lower thin plate 3 and a head lower thin plate 4 form the portion exposed to the combustion gas of a combustion chamber 5. The upper thin plate 2 and the head lower thin plate 4 form the main combustion chamber 11 of the combustion chamber 5, the lower thin plate 3 forms the quasi-combustion chamber 15 of the combustion chamber 5. The main combustion chamber 11 is formed smaller than the quasi-combustion chamber 15, the fuel and air flowing into the main combustion chamber are compressed as small as possible, a swirl can be made strong. |
