PURPOSE:To prevent the coercive force of a magneto-optical recording medium from receiving an influence with another light flux by separately converging two light fluxes, whose intensity is mutually different, from the semiconductor laser of a single light emitting source on the same track of the magneto-optical recording medium with a same objective lens and executing the recording, reproducing and erasing of information. CONSTITUTION:The single light flux to be radiated from the semiconductor laser of the single light emitting source is caused to be a parallel light flux by a coupling lens 2 and beam-shaping is executed to the light flux by a prism 3 for beam shaping. Continuously, by transmitting through a Wollaston prism 4, the light flux is separated to two light fluxes according to a polarizing component. These two light fluxes are transmitted through a beam splitter 5 and converged on the recording surface of a magneto-optical disk 7 as the magneto- optical recording medium as fine spots and by the operation of an objective lens 6. In a recording mode, the recording of the information is executed by the light flux of the strong intensity and the confirmation and reproducing of the recorded information is executed by the light flux of the weak intensity. Thus, difficulty to control the positions of the plural light emitting sources, difficulty to cause the light source to be at a low cost or the problem of chromatic aberration to accompany the plural light emitting sources, etc., can be resolved. |
