Lamp-cleaning system for motor vehicles

A lamp-cleaning system for motor vehicles is described, in particular headlamp cleaning system which can be put into operation by means of switching means directly by switching on the lamps and/or when they are operated by switching on a windscreen cleaning system. For the purpose of reducing the cleaning agent consumption, a brightness sensor is provided as further marginal condition on which the operation of the lamp cleaning system depends, so that the time of day can be taken into account when controlling the lamp cleaning system. This measure is based on the recognition that, above all, the lamp cleaning system is to improve the view of the driver when driving at night, but is not intended for a better illumination of the vehicle during daytime so that it may be better recognised by other participants in traffic. The essential advantage is therefore that in particular during daytime the consumption in terms of cleaning agent can be reduced to a large extent.
