A rear-seat bench (1) of a passenger car has a backrest (2) on which an armrest (3) is mounted via two mounting clips (6) in a manner such that it can pivot between an approximately horizontal in-use position (a) and a swivel-back position (b). The mounting clips (6) have in this case a longitudinal recess (7) which runs approximately in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and in which a pivot pin (5), which protrudes from the armrest (3), is in each case mounted such that it can rotate and be displaced longitudinally. On the armrest (3) there is furthermore provided a guide groove (21) which runs in a circular-arc shape about the pivot pin (5) and at the end regions of which there is constructed a latching recess (22, 23). A locking pin (24), which protrudes from the mounting clip (6), engages in this recess in a latching manner in both the in-use position (a) and in the swivel-back position (b) in the event of the armrest (3) being displaced as a result of inertia, so that the armrest (3) is held in a manner such that it is fixed against pivoting (Fig. 4). <IMAGE>
