Vice having two relatively displaceable or pivotable clamping jaws, of which at least one clamping jaw can be positively moved by manually actuable pushing or pulling means along a guide arranged on a vice base body. In this arrangement, at least one force-transducer system is operatively connected to at least one of the force-transmitting parts of the vice in such a way that forces arising between the two clamping jaws can be determined and evaluated in a measurement data-evaluating device associated with the force-transducer system, and can be displayed by means of a measurement data-displaying device associated with said measurement data-evaluating device. In addition, a displacement-transducer system is operatively connected to the clamping jaws in such a way that the distance travelled by each of the movable clamping jaws during a feed movement or an opening movement can be determined and evaluated in the measurement data-evaluating unit associated with the displacement-transducer system, and also displayed by means of the measurement data-displaying device associated with the measurement data-evaluating device.
