Barrier which is placed either on the structure of a hoist, or on struts, being easy to install, equipped with extendable devices which allows its adaptation to the space to be protected, and also a device by means of which it reduces its length when it is raised. It has a device which lightens its weight through the action of a spring, plate spring or the like, which produces a thrust tending to raise the barrier and, once raised, it contributes to maintaining this position. Applicable to buildings under construction, as a security element. <IMAGE>
