摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce the variation of sensor output due to an environmental temp. change by setting BSO (Bi12SiO20) having natural rotary power so as to have a proper natural angle of rotation as a magnetic optical element. CONSTITUTION:A BSO crystal having natural rotary power is used as a magnetic optical element 4. In order to reduce the variation of modulation output due to an environmental temp. change while sufficient sensitivity is held, it is effective to set the natural angle of rotation of the element 4 to 40+ or -2 deg.. Therefore, the length of the element 4 is set so as to give said angle of rotation. A polarizer 3 and a detector 5 are arranged before and behind the element 4 having Faraday effect to allow the light emitted from a predetermined light emitting means to be incident to the element 4 through the polarizer 3 and the light modulated corresponding to the intensity of the magnetic field acting on the element 4 is detected by a predetermined light detection means to measure the magnetic field acting on the element 4 or the current generating said magnetic field.</p>
