<p>PURPOSE:To preserve vegetables and fruits in a fresh state for a long period of time without requiring much labor at all in preserving operation by storing vegetables and fruits in a carbon dioxide gas absorbing atmosphere to absorb a carbon dioxide gas by existence of milk of lime. CONSTITUTION:Vegetables and fruits 12 are put in a container 8 made of expanded polystyrene, plastic, etc., provided with an air-permeable partition wall 9, a cover 8a, a storage part 11 of milk of lime to store milk of lime 10 formed at the bottom of the container and a storage part 13 of vegetable and fruits to put the vegetables and fruits 12 at the upper part of the container and the container is put in a refrigerator capable of cooling the refrigerator to a given temperature by a means such as refrigerating machine.</p> |
