PURPOSE: To obtain a pharmaceutical preparation which contains a combination of an essential fatty acid selected from the higher n-6 series acids with an essential fatty acid selected from the higher n-3 series acids and is useful for treatment of schizophrenia and/or tardive dyskinesia. CONSTITUTION: This medicinal preparation contains an essential fatty acid selected fromγ-linolenic acid and higher n-6 series acids, for example, dihomo-γ- linolenic acid or arachidonic acid and another essential fatty acid selected from stearidonic acid and the higher n-3 series acids, for example, eicosapentaenoic acid, 22:5 n-3 acid, decosahexaenoic acid. The addition of vitamin E in an amount of >=3wt.% based on the total amount of the essential fatty acids affords enhancement of the effect. This medicinal preparation is effective for atopic eczema, psoriasis, acne, contact dermatitis, hives and other inflammatory diseases, too. |
