A hydraulic cylinder with end-position damping has a double-acting piston (16) which is fastened to a piston rod (18) coming out at one end of the hydraulic cylinder. Inlets and outlets (24, 26) for hydraulic oil are located in the end areas of the hydraulic cylinder. The inner space of the cylinder is extended at each of the two ends by a cylinder chamber (52, 54), the diameter of which is less than that of the cylinder. Located at both end faces of the piston (16) are coaxial damping pistons (38, 42), the outside diameter of which is adapted to the inside diameter of the respectively associated cylinder chamber. Choke bores (64, 68; 66, 70) connect the cylinder chambers to the interior of the cylinder through the cylinder housing. The inlets and outlets (24, 26) are arranged at a position in which they lead directly into the interior space of the cylinder. <IMAGE>
