PURPOSE:To trim an original picture to a specified width, to nearly uniform the width of a slanting edge part, and to expands picture data, by taking a scan on the picture data and performing logical filtering processing. CONSTITUTION:Individual picture data is read out of an original picture file FM and set in output picture and original picture data buffers DM2 and DM3. The contents of the buffer DM2 are scanned horizontally and vertically to apply picture data to a multiplexer MPX, which outputs data on the 1st to the 7th lines to a shift register SR to hold data on a logical mask in a register SR. A table memory TM has the same pictur element constitution with the logical mask to generate an output corresponding to a contour width control signal, which is applied to an OR circuit together with an output corresponding to picture elements of the register SR. By a control signal CS1 corresponding to picture element data from the buffer DM2, trimming to specified width is carried out to uniform the width of a trimmed part, thereby expanding the picture data. |
