A redundant, remote-controlled crane system for a no-access process room (1) has only two bridge cranes (5, 6), each consisting of two bridges (25, 27 and 26, 28), which travel on a common crane track (31) and which can, for example, repair each other or, during transport operations, support each other. To this end, the carrier masts (10, 11) for the manipulator devices (33, 34) are arranged on the facing sides of the bridge cranes. A davit (21 or 22) arranged between the bridges of a bridge crane can, by means of a swivel arm (17, 18) and a swivel mechanism (19, 20), assemble or disassemble all parts of that crane and execute work on the neighbouring bridge crane. The system proposed results in appreciably lower construction costs and appreciably simpler equipment for process rooms.
