PURPOSE:To include many bits of information in one recording mark and to improve recording density in an optical information recording medium by causing the edge parts of first and second recording marks and the width of the second recording mark to correspond to the information. CONSTITUTION:For the first and second recording marks of an optical information recording medium 1, the edge part in a relative moving direction with an optical head 2 is correspondent to the second code of digital information and only when the edge part is irradiated with an optical beam projecting from the optical head 2, an information pulse is generated in a regenerative signal which is outputted from the optical head 2. For the second recording mark, a part between both edge parts is correspondent to the second code of the digital information. Then, the width of the second recording mark is formed to be narrower than that of the first recording mark so that the level of the regenerative signal can be made lower than a reference part when the part between both edge parts is irradiated with the optical beam. Thus, since many bits of information can be included in each recording mark, the recording density can be improved. |
