The invention relates to an apparatus 1 for banks, post offices or the like, composed of at least one door leaf 6, 7 and of two shielding walls which form a through-passage 31 and can be arranged on the outer side of the door, the door leaves 6, 7 and the shielding walls consisting of a bulletproof material, in particular sheet steel. In order to simplify the apparatus and, in particular, in order to avoid the use of special shielding walls, the invention provides that each door leaf 6, 7 is formed from three door panels 9 to 11 which can be made to coincide with one another in the closed position of the apparatus 1, and that, in the open position of the door leaves 6, 7, in which said door leaves have been pivoted outwards through 90@, the door panels 9 to 11 can be moved into one plane one behind the other and arrested in order to form shielding walls (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
