<p>The positive d.c. supply (+V) is fed via an inductance (L) to three semiconductor switches (Q1,Q2,Q3). Three similar switches (Q4,Q5,Q6) are connected between the negative supply (-V). The junctions between pairs of switches (Q1 & Q4, Q2 & Q5, Q3 & Q6) provide the three a.c. phase outputs (R,S,T). The electronic switches (Q1 to Q6) are controlled by a timing processor (P), which provides square wave switching pulses with varying on/off periods. A variant of the circuit has an additional inductance in the negative supply line.</p> |
