The apparatus for the shaping of fibre materials contains a feed conveyor (1, 2) and two drums (4, 5) which are downstream of the latter in the conveying direction of a fibre strand (3) and which are driven synchronously in one plane symmetrically relative to the fibre strand (3) and in opposite directions. Embossing elements are fastened to the drums and are designed as rearwardly curved shovels (6) and guides (7). The shovels (6) are mounted on the cylindrical surface of each drum (4, 5) uniformly and parallel to the axis of rotation, form at least one row and face the direction of movement of the fibre material (3) with their concavity. The guides (7) are located on both sides of the fibre material (3). Each guide (7) cooperates partially with one side of part of the row of shovels (6) in the vicinity of their flanks and, in the outlet zone of the embossed fibre web (9), has a portion (10) which is parallel to the direction of movement of the embossed fibre web (9) and which touches the latter. <IMAGE>
