Windscreen frame and method for the production thereof

A windscreen frame made of synthetic resin for motor vehicles is produced from a shaped strip (11) having an upper transverse part (12) and a limb (13) downwardly adjoining the latter. On the inside is an upper tab (14) and a lower tab (16) which results in the formation of two grooves (15, 17). The shaped strip (11) is converted by heating into an essentially U-shaped form with a central region (11a) and side parts (11b) downwardly adjoining the latter in an essentially perpendicular manner. The U-shaped strip (11) is cut in such a manner that the first groove (15) is retained in the central region (11a) and is intended for receiving the upper edge of the glass pane, whereas the side parts (11b) are provided with the upper groove (15) and the lower groove (17) and these grooves form a rain-conducting channel and/or the holder for the side edge of the pane (G).
