Photographic Ag halide (AgX) material has emulsion coat(s) contg. tabular AgX grains with a dia. equal to at least 3 times the thickness, sensitised with alpha,gamma-bis (benzoxazolyl)-trimethin cyanine dyestuff(s) (I) and monomethin cyanine dyestuff(s) (II) of the formulae: A1-4 = H, lower alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, OH, aryl, COOH, alkoxycarbonyl, CN, CF3, amino, acylamido, acyl, acyloxy or alkoxycarbonylamino; or A1/A2 or A3/A4 = a gp. completing a naphthoxazole ring; R0 = H, lower alkyl or aryl; R1 and R2 = alkyl, at least one of which contains a SO3H gp.; X1-2 = an anion; n and m = 1 or 2, (I) or (II) forming a betaine if n = 1 or m = 1; Z1 and Z2 = non-metal atoms completing a thiazole, thiazoline, oxazole, selenazole, 3,3-dialkylindolenine, imidazole or pyridine ring; R3 and R4 = alkyl. USE/ADVANTAGE - The green and blue sensitisation of emulsions with excellent covering power is increased. These are useful for CRT photography.
