The invention relates to a steering device for fluid-borne loads for maintaining direction and changing direction in a defined way during advancing movements. The essential features of the invention are that a hydraulic cylinder with articulated bearing is attached in a movable fashion to a telescope by means of a piston rod head and the piston rod head is connected to a displacement measuring system, that an angle measuring system is arranged on a telescope and that an advancing cross element with advancing runners is rotatably attached to the piston rod of a lifting cylinder.
