The anxiety-relieving device on medical instruments such as syringes, probes, specula or forceps which are within the field of vision of the patient during treatment, essentially comprises a screen which is fitted or attached on the instruments and which is provided with lettering, painting or a figurative design. The screen is clamped on the glass body of the syringes by clamping bodies. In the region of the glass body, the screen has a cut-out in order to permit inspection of the degree of filling of the glass body. The screen on probes, specula and forceps is provided with an attachment shoe.
