Novel esters of cyclohexene are disclosed having the formula I in which R represents hydrogen or a hydrocarbon group containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms. These novel esters display a wide range of interesting odoriferous properties. A process for the preparation of said esters is also disclosed.
