The connection of a tubular post (1) of a shower partition wall to a tube or profiled-bar section (2) arranged at right angles thereto is effected via a receiving sleeve (3), inserted into the end section of the post (1), and a joining piece (5) capable of being secured to the receiving sleeve (3). The joining piece (5) has an insertion opening (29) for the tube or profiled-bar section (2), the opening running at right angles to the axis of the joining piece. The tube or profiled-bar section (2) is firmly clamped in the insertion opening (29) by means of screws (41). The fixing of the receiving sleeve (3) in the post (1) is effected with the aid of a clamping wedge (4) which is secured by an axial screw (36) to a wedge face (10) at the end of the receiving sleeve (3). <IMAGE>
