A hairdryer which is to be guided by hand using a handle (10) has, as air outlet, a tubular piece (5) with two air outlet slots (6, 7) located opposite each other. A rotary slide (8) is arranged rotatably in the tubular piece (5) and, depending on its position, covers one air outlet slot or the other (6, 7).
