<p>The sterilisation instrument comprises an ultra-violet electric lamp in a protective tube permeable to ultra-violet radiation. Part of the tube is coated with a layer reflecting this radiation, typically of aluminium and in strip form along the outside surface of the tube. There can be an enclosing housing with passage between inlet and outlet for coolant and in which the tube and lamp are mounted, while the uncoated part of the tube is towards a radiation outlet window.</p> |
