The invention relates to a motor-vehicle mudguard with splash protection which, by means of parallel webs, which point towards the wheel and extend essentially transversely to the direction of travel, forms channels, which are open towards the wheel and in which the precipitated splash water runs off laterally. The mudguard is characterised in that grooves are constructed at the free ends of the webs, which grooves are open at the top and are formed in such a manner that the water splashing off the wheel can enter as freely as possible into the channel between adjacent grooves and after reflection within the channel is caught in the grooves.
