In a heald frame, at least the lower heald stave (1) has, on one side, an uneven surface (3) which, in cross-section, possesses a sawtooth profile with projecting edges (4) formed by the teeth. In the case of a harness comprising a plurality of heald frames, the uneven surface (3) of the heald stave cooperates with an even surface of an adjacent heald stave, so that, during the downward movement, an air flow is generated in the same direction in the interspace of a width of approximately 2.5-3.0 mm between the heald staves moving relative to one another, as a result of the take-up of air brought about by the projecting edges, and transports away out of the region of the heald frames the dust which is generated during the operation of the weaving machine. <IMAGE>
