The junction box has at least one layer of conducting strips making a circuit on an insulating substrate to give a circuit board contained within the box. The strips fit in grooves in the substrate. The grooves form a pattern. Watertight elements cover the strips inside the grooves. The grooves define walls that stand up out of the substrate and separate adjacent lengths of conducting strip, insulating them from one another. The cover elements that close the grooves are joined together by bridges into a single unit. Several layers may be provided comprising substrate plus strips and components and sockets. ADVANTAGE - Simple avoidance of leakage and creep currents esp. by excluding water penetration.
