The auxiliary winglets are fitted in front and below where the maximum absolute value of the main winglet is. The front and rear side of the template of the main as well as of the auxiliary winglets have such an angle that they can create an upwards water flow, that is, towards the hull of the boat or towards the main winglet in the case of auxiliary winglets. The average sweep angle (SW) of each side is -60 degrees SW 5 degrees less in accordance with international literature. The result of the above fitting and the forms of templates is: a) the increase of the flank hardness (FH), b) elimination of conducted resistance and hence increase of CL/ CD and c) reduction of wave-making of the bow. |
